
As the Retail Purchasing Team Lead at Pieterpik, you play a key role in sourcing our retail assortments. You ensure optimal product availability, monitor stock, quality, and delivery reliability, and build strong relationships with suppliers. At the same time, you lead the purchasing team and contribute to building a professional, future-oriented purchasing organization.
You look beyond just purchasing. You contribute ideas regarding product development, assortment choices, and attractive retail collections for the entire year. In doing so, you know how to connect commercial opportunities, supplier capabilities, and company objectives.
Your responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing the purchasing strategy for our retail assortments
Managing, coaching, and developing the purchasing team
Ensuring clear priorities, effective task distribution, and professional workflows within the team
Managing forecasts, inventory, quality, and delivery reliability to ensure we deliver on time and in full
Collaborating closely with departments involved in product availability, assortment, and planning
Building sustainable and strategic supplier relationships and further professionalizing them
Actively contributing to product development, assortment selection, and the creation of attractive year-round collections
Monitoring and optimizing margins, inventory levels, quality, and delivery reliability
Translating commercial opportunities into smart purchasing decisions
What you bring to the table
You have a bachelor's level of education and professional experience, for example in business administration or supply chain management
You have at least 1 year of experience in a procurement or category management role
You have experience in leading, coaching, and developing a team
You are a natural connector who knows how to bring different interests together
You communicate easily at all levels, from suppliers and colleagues to executive management
You are proactive, results-oriented, and have strong communication skills
You have an eye for strategy, inventory, quality, and supplier relationships
Experience in the agricultural or food sector is a plus, but not a requirement
You have a good command of both Dutch and English
